GRADO 10º -PASADO PERFECTO.

¿QUÉ ES EL PASADO PERFECTO EN INGLÉS?

El pasado perfecto en inglés es un tiempo verbal que hace referencia a un hecho o acción que ocurrió en un tiempo anterior a otra acción. Es decir un pasado y otro pasado anterior a este. Como por ejemplo:

He had studied English

El había estudiado Ingles

She had bought a new computer

Ella había comprado una nueva computadora

¿CUÁL ES LA ESTRUCTURA DEL PASADO PERFECTO?

Estructuralmente es igual que el presente perfecto, con la diferencia de que en vez de utilizar el auxiliar "Have / Has" utilizamos "Had".






Como todos los tiempos verbales, el pasado perfecto también es aplicado para las sentencias positivas, negativas e interrogativas.

• Oraciones positivas. El pasado perfecto en una sentencia positiva tiene la estructura de: "sujeto + had + participio pasado". como por ejemplo:
  I had read something
  Yo había leido algo
  
  She had talked somebody
  Ella había hablado a alguien

• Oraciones negativas. El pasado perfecto en una sentencia negativa tiene la siguiente estructura: "sujeto + had + not + participio pasado". Como por ejemplo:
  
  I had not read something
  Yo no había leído algo
  
  She had not talked somebody
  Ella no había hablado a alguien
• Oraciones interrogativas. El pasado perfecto en una sentencia interrogativa tiene la siguiente estructura: "Had + sujeto + participio pasado". Como por ejemplo:
  
  Had I read something?
  ¿Había leído algo?
  
  Had She talked somebody?
  ¿Había hablado a alguien?

¿CUANDO UTILIZAR EL PASADO PERFECTO?

Podemos utilizar el pasado perfecto para los siguientes casos:

1. Para una acción que ocurrió en el pasado, pero que ocurrió antes de otra acción. Podemos ver esto en las siguientes oraciones.
   
   I gave them the money that I had collected last week
   Yo les di el dinero que había reunido la semana pasada
   
   Laura had gone to the house before Mark came
   Laura se había ido a la casa antes de que Mark llegó
   
    After Mary had gone to the hotel, he went home
   Después de que Mary había ido al hotel, él se fue a casa
   
   
   I bought the computer after I had sold the car
   Me compré el ordenador después de haber vendido el coche
   
   
   Before Enrique arrived, her wife had cleaned the apartment
   Antes de que llegó Enrique, su esposa había limpiado el apartamento
   
   
2. Cuando una acción continúa ocurriendo durante un tiempo en el pasado, pero es detenido antes del presente. Podemos ver esto en las siguientes oraciones:
   
   Laura had flown to England for six years before she had problems
   Laura había viajado a Inglaterra durante seis años antes de que tuvieraproblemas
   
   Mark had studied English for two years before he had to travel
   Mark había estudiado ingles durante 2 años antes de que él tuviera que viajar.

Susan had a party last week. She had invited all her friends to her house. She had invited her friends from work, her friends from university, and her friends from her neighborhood. The guests started arriving at around 7 o’clock for dinner.

Susan’s best friend, Cindy, was there, wearing a red dress. And Susan’s boyfriend, Tom, was wearing a blue suit and looked very handsome.

Cindy’s boyfriend wasn’t there, because he was travelling for business. He was negotiating a big contract in Sao Paolo that day. He had left the day before, and wouldn’t be back for two more days.

Susan had made lasagna, which was very good. She had made enough lasagna for 30 people! She had also made salad and stuffed eggplant. Everything was delicious.

Her friends brought wine to the party. Everybody talked and drank wine and had a good time. While they were eating, they talked about their lives and about the political situation in their country (which was terrible, like everywhere else).

Susan hadn’t made anything for dessert, so they ate chocolate ice cream, which was delicious.

Around 11 o’clock everyone left, except Cindy, who stayed to help Susan clean up.

Some people caught taxis to go home, and some people took the subway. Other people walked.

After Susan and Cindy had finished cleaning up, they sat on the sofa and had another glass of wine and relaxed. It had been a good night, and they were both very tired.
